diet worked!

last july (source) i posted my most recent weigh-in results. this was it:

weight 142 lbs (not bad, i guess)
body mass index 22.9
fat index 23.7% (desirable range is 17-23%. that means im borderline overweight)
fat mass 33.6lbs (desirable range is 22.2 to 32.4lbs)

the results indicated my target body fat should only be 20% of my total weight, i should ideally be 135lb heavy (based on my weight and age) with a fat mass of 27lb. that means i have to lose 6.6lbs to achieve my ideal weight. tootsie, how hard is it to lose 6lbs? ghad.

today (nov2) i did a weigh in at the mercury drugstore in katipunan and these results came out:

weight 133 lbs (omg. 9lbs difference?)
body mass index 21.5 kg/m
fat index 17% (desirable range is 17-23%)
fat mass 22.7lbs (desirable range is 22.2 to 32.4lbs)

this means in the last 4 months, more so in the last 2 months i lost 9lbs! 9lbs! i really didnt think it was possible! ๐Ÿ˜‰ i was at my heaviest in may of this year, i could have clocked in at 145lbs im sure.ย  i sure am thrilled!ย  now im only 3 lbs to my ideal weight! wohoo!ย  ๐Ÿ˜‰ the braces were a big factor in the weight loss but it only made me realize how effective cutting down on certain kinds of food for the sake of eating healthy really is.ย  if i exercised i would actually lose my tummy and build some muscles but im quite thrilled with the outcome of just the diet.ย my (imposed) healthier diet (no rice, less sodium, less sugar–no softdrinks, no iced tea,– more fish, more yoghurt, more oatmeal, less fatty food, no bread worked!

  1. Congrats! ๐Ÿ™‚ You’re thin! You don’t need diet! Haha. Di ko yata kaya ang diet… I’d rather exercise. Haha. ๐Ÿ™‚ The only time when I eat less is only when I’m depressed or brokenhearted. Tsk.

    • i used to be exclusively thin until my metabolism betrayed me! haha thing is, i didnt really need to diet until i noticed i wasnt burning up my food like usual (without exercise) . exercise is great and necessary but until such time that i can actually work out, i will have to cut down on my intake ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Ja! Ako nga nag start mag gym nung August pero dieting is still minimal. I noticed that at my age, metabolism ha really slowed down soooo much ๐Ÿ˜ฆ 20 years ago, nanganak ako and in a month I could wear my pre-pregnancy jeans… no diet or exercise. Wow… those were the days.

    3 months of gym and I’ve lost a couple of cms pa lang ๐Ÿ˜ฆ hindi halata AT ALL! kaloka!

    the older pala… the harder the work. pero tama ka. aim for it pa rin. mahal kaya magpa-chemo or fulltime nurse ๐Ÿ™‚ pati maintenance meds ano.

    Congrats sa iyo… 4 months lang, 9 lbs na! wow!

    weigh 132.5lb (60.1kg)
    fat index 17%
    fat mass 22.5 lb
    BMI 21.3 kg/m3 (normal is between 18.5 and 24.9

    new update as of feb 23 2011
    weigh 130.5lb (59.2 kg)
    fat index 16.2%
    fat mass 20.9
    BMI 21.2 kg/m3

    ill try to weigh again in the next few days

    weigh 130.7lb (59.3 kg)
    fat index 17.4%
    fat mass 22.7
    BMI 21.5 kg/m3

    yey! bumigat ako ng .1KG ! haha trying to gain weigh because i think im too thin
