seforel tvc

this posting is long overdue. we did this ad for seforel october 2008. had a hard time finding an office that we wanted with the schedule that we needed to do the shoot. eventually we narrowed it down to two offices, including the revolver studios office. and i said, yes i can make something out of the lobby. so we did that. unfortunately, looks like it will also be the last time we’d shoot in the office too hehehe

that mineral water shoot

this we shot in november 2008. the shoot took place in zambales, on camara island. had to have custom-made pois done mainly because we followed a particular color scheme. logistics was tricky as the set guys had to ferry construction materials to the island to build those beach resort huts and bar 🙂

unique churches

forwarded mail from my dad. here are ten unique churches. cheers!

Ten Most Unique Churches

Harajuku: Japanese Futuristic Church
Photobucket
This futuristic protestant church is located in Tokyo and it was first unveiled by the design firm of Ciel Rouge Creation in 2005. The ceiling is specially made to reverberate natural sound for 2 seconds to provide a unique listening experience for worshipers and tourists.

Saint Basil’s Cathedral: The Red Square’s Colorful Church
Photobucket
The St. Basil’s Cathedral is located on the Red Square in Moscow, Russia. A Russian Orthodox church, the Cathedral sports a series of colorful bulbous domes that taper to a point, aptly named onion domes, that are part of Moscow’s Kremlin skyline.

The cathedral was commissioned by Ivan the Terrible to commemorate the capture of the Khanate of Kazan. In 1588 Tsar Fedor Ivanovich had a chapel added on the eastern side above the grave of Basil Fool for Christ, a Russian Orthodox saint after whom the cathedral was popularly named.

arnis-shot

we worked on this commercial. proud of the work we put in despite the fact that you dont really see the detail of the costumes (carlo’s blood, sweat and tears) but nevertheless, for this we proved to ourselves we can do something as wild as this. ill post a full blog entry when i have time.

sorry nobody has uploaded the ad on youtube yet so i have nothing to put up here. hope you caught this on tv though.

jollibee shoot

we shot a jollibee ad a few months ago for the new champ burger (1/3 pounds, bigger than a quarter pounder! haha). i asked the services of talented brothers carlo & angelo tabije to help paint a backdrop for the product.  they made me 2 8′x8′ panels in jollibee orange colors all in one afternoon. this commercial featured joem bascon eating burgers in the last 5 seconds of the ad. the photo above were those prepared for him to bite into. every take, they had to replace the burger with a new one.  after the shoot they were carted off… i dont know where. and i didnt even get to eat even a bit of bacon (from the bacon and cheese burger on their menu) 😦

project remote

love the set design i made for this meralco ad. this was actually a sequel to the butiki tvc meralco produced months before (see photo right).  director eric matti discussed with me that he wanted the living room to be textured, a bit like amelie (that french movie that rocked the world in 2001). of course considering that this is in the pinas, i figured we’d do amelie in balara. and what an exciting combination that was 😀
